It’s October and Halloween is almost upon us! The “THEATRE OF TERRORS” is a full-scale maze with nine agonizing rooms of pure horror, sure to give you nightmares. When guests make their entrance, creatures will be lurking around every corner, waiting to give you a frightful, pulse-pounding experience!
THEATRE OF TERRORS features the talent of our Performing Arts Center from conception to execution! Starting off in the classroom, Theatre Crafts Class students were given the assignment to research and present their ideas for the scariest haunted house room. From these 20 ideas, 9 were selected to come to life, and under the direction of KHSPAC Program Coordinator MJ Matsushita, our students began the hard work of building each spooky room. Auditions were then held, open to all Public & Charter School Students, as well as KHSPAC Alumni. Our final cast features 20 high school students from Kaimuki High School, McKinley High School, Kalani High School and Kalaheo High School. The THEATRE OF TERRORS is directed by KHSPAC Alumni Tevin Reiger and Michael Ng, who is an educator and local working actor in theatre and film.
During our Haunted House experience, attendees will be met and led through a terrorizing maze by Kaimuki High School students. We challenge you to make it through nine rooms of horror!
Outside of our Haunted House, we invite attendees to purchase goodies at our very popular KHSPAC Concession Stand Bake Sale. These delicious bakery items are created Fenceline Bakery, founded by our program Coordinator, MJ Matsushita! We will also have a limited amount of Halloween wigs for sale. All proceeds will go towards furthering the KHSPAC Program’s long-time goal of educating public school students in the all aspects of the Performing Arts discipline. On Saturday, October 21st, we are pleased to be joined by long-time KHSPAC supporter, Kālele Eats, a gourmet food truck who will be serving hot fresh malasadas. A portion of the proceeds from their sales will also go towards KHSPAC.
Please be advised, use of strobe lighting and fog are incorporated in the Haunted House. Theatre of Terrors is recommended for visitors ages 12 and up. Masks are optional.
